Form-A-Lines Nautical and Oriental Flowers patterns reviewed

Friday 30 January 2009

Two new pattern booklets have been added to the Form-A-Lines stitching cards range. They are: Oriental flowers featuring birds on a vine, a flowering vine and a bird in a thorn bush; Nautical featuring a lighthouse, a porthole and a captain’s hat above a wheel.

These kits are designed to look good in one colour of thread. The thread colour recommended for the Oriental flowers is confetti pink and the Nautical patterns look good in antique gold.

They are by the same designer as the Stitching Cards patterns, the difference being that they are available as printed booklets and not as downloads.

The pattern booklets are available by mail order in the UK as part of a kit from the Card Inspirations UK shop.

The pattern booklets are also available on their own for world wide delivery (including the UK) from the Card Inspirations International shop.

The nautical patterns make excellent cards for men, particularly if they like messing about in boats. The oriental flowers are great for lots of occasions including birthdays, anniversaries and congratulations.

Can you please tell me why we cant buy these patterns in the same format as we do from stitching cards. Those of us who are experienced stitchers dont way to buy the complete package with everything in. We should have the option of what we want to buy.

I know for a fact that you will loose customers by not using the same system., especially now when money is tighter.

    Look forward to your reply

    Thanks

Most craft shops that sell Form-A-Lines kits will sell you the printed pattern booklet separately on request, Wendy.

Thanks for your reply, could you perhaps then tell me a craft shop in Leeds where I can buy just the pattern. I have never ever seen them in any of the craft shops.

International people can buy the just the patterns from Card Inspirations, why cant this be applied to UK customers as well.
    Thanks

I regret that Form-A-Lines do not supply any craft shops in Leeds at the moment. UK customers can buy from the Card Inspirations International shop.

    Hi Sue,

Card Inspirations is the only shop that sells Form-A-Lines kits and booklets on the Internet. They sell the pattern booklets in their International online shop. You can order them there for UK delivery. They also take telephone orders, see the Card Inspirations web site for contact details.

The Card Inspirations craft shop is in the South – Tewin, Hertfordshire. If you send an email to prickandstitch@ismycraft.com with your county I will see if there is anyone nearer to you. However, I would point out that there are only a handful of craft shops selling Form-A-Lines patterns in the UK. They are a bit of a specialist item.

thanks for your help, I have often bought from uk shop, and indeed in the past have visited the shop in Tewin many times and especially the xmas weekends , with previous owners. I did not realise we could buy just the booklet from the international shop even though in uk. As I have all the previous kits I wanted to add these, but did not want the cards and thread as already have enough to stock a shop. Have just placed my order.

Once again thanks for your replies and I look forward to buying more of your online patterns (i have the majority already ) in the future, any idea when the next are due out ? orthe theme.

many thanks once again and keep up the good work.
    regards

    Sue

I too agree with the entire letters posted to you about not being able to buy these new patterns Form-A-Lines Oriental Flowers & Nautical patterns. I too would NOT pay out £9.25 each + £3.95 delivery that’s £13.20 each pattern. Why don’t you sell the printed pattern booklet separately online?
    Look forward to your reply
    Thanks kind regards Jeanette

    Hi Jeanette,

Card Inspirations sell the pattern booklets in their International online shop. You can order them there for UK or worldwide delivery. If you live in the UK and want to combine booklets with goods in their UK shop you can order by telephone. See the Card Inspirations web site for contact details.

The £3.95 delivery charge is per order for any quantity, so if you buy one item or ten items, delivery is still £3.95. UK delivery for orders over £40 is free.

    Best wishes,
    David.
